For load and specification of the bracket in STAAD.Pro we will create the support condition. Support is assigned to the flange resting on the column or wall. The flange resting on the column or wall is fixed with compression-only support but the support has been assigned to simulate the situation that the connected interface can restrict only compression. The location of bolts is considered as the bracket is well restrained at these points. However, one can again specify the bolt tensile rigidity by specifying the support spring stiffness.

Procedure for defining Load and specification of Bracket in STAAD.Pro

  1. Firstly, assign spring supports to the wall support of the bracket.
  2. Secondly, we will add self-weight and plate pressure on the flange of the bracket.
  3. Next, we will add nodal load at the end of the flange of the bracket.
  4. Finally, after analyzing the model we will get the post-processing results like displacement diagram, plate stress, etc.
