OnDemand Training | ProConcrete: Modeling Concrete & Reinforcement for Bridge Structures

This is the first module of a two-part training series on using ProConcrete for bridge structures. This module is divided into three sections:

  1. Introduction to ProConcrete, modeling and reinforcing ProConcrete pad footings, columns, and beams
  2. Modeling and reinforcing ProConcrete continuous footings, walls, slabs, and custom reinforcement, and modifying ProConcrete concrete and reinforcing steel elements
  3. Modeling ProConcrete reinforcement in OpenBridge (or other application) solid elements

In the first section we will introduce ProStructures and ProConcrete, cover many of the application-specific settings that might be of importance to a user, and go through the process of modeling and reinforcing ProConcrete pad footing, column, and beam elements.

The second section covers the process of modeling and reinforcing ProConcrete continuous footings, walls, and slabs. Additionally, the custom guideline-based reinforcement modeling tools are introduced, and we cover the process of modifying ProConcrete concrete and reinforcing steel elements.

In the last section, we will use the recommended workflow for working with concrete models that were created in a different application, like OpenBridge Modeler. We will go through the process of modeling reinforcement in foreign solid elements using parametric and custom reinforcement tools, as well as using face-based extraction tools and variables to custom reinforcement that dynamically updates as needed when changes are made to the parent concrete element.
