OnDemand Training | PLAXIS Designer: Setting up a 3D Geotechnical Model with Meshes
Numerical modeling for geotechnical applications has been moving to 3D. One of the main challenges with this movement is building a realistic 3D conceptual model, manipulating, and merging different geotechnical site data, for a better engineering design. This training session will focus on the main concepts in PLAXIS Designer, bringing important notion about model creation through meshes.
The model examples will be applied primarily for the mining industries, such as Heap Leach and Tailings Dam application, but concepts can be certainly extended to several civil infrastructure cases. Use of 2D profiles will be also presented, as this approach is frequently used when first designing 3D models.
In this training, you will learn more about:
- How to handle different file types for surface generation
- Main mesh operations and fixing intersecting geometries
- Setting up a 3D conceptual model using 2D profiles and TIN Surfaces
Attendees should install PLAXIS Designer as a prerequisite to this course.
