Conduct 2D or 3D numerical analysis on groundwater flow, contaminant transfer, energy movement, and pore air flow through the subsurface.

GeoStudio Flow offers a range of numerical analysis tools for simulating geo-environmental conditions above and below the ground surface. GeoStudio Flow can be used for a range of applications including excavations and open pit mines, dewatering systems, earthen dams and levees, tailings storage facilities, and waste cover systems.

GeoStudio 2D Flow

GeoStudio 2D Flow

GeoStudio 2D Flow includes SEEP/W, TEMP/W, CTRAN/W and AIR/W and is a multi-physics 2D finite element software package for modeling environmental protection, groundwater flow, climate, and ground freezing problems.

GeoStudio 3D Flow

GeoStudio 3D Flow

GeoStudio 3D Flow includes AIR3D, TEMP3D, CTRAN 3D, SEEP3D and provides the same fundamental capabilities as GeoStudio 2D Flow; however, it allows for comprehensive assessment of geo-environmental projects where 3D effects are important.

Technical Capabilities

Leapfrog Interoperability for Geometry Definition

Set up the 3D geometry using Leapfrog geological models given the direct interoperability between Leapfrog and GeoStudio. Alternatively, import background meshes from a file, or build the domain using the 3D geometry creation tools available in GeoStudio.

Efficiently Define Material Properties

Estimation routines are available for quickly defining hydraulic and thermal properties representing a range of porous materials.

Comprehensive Boundary Condition Options

Use the complete range of hydraulic, thermal, concentration, and air pressure boundary conditions to represent factors influencing conditions within or at the domain extents. Hydraulic options include total head, water flux, flow rate or unit gradient, while thermal options include temperature, energy flow/flux, thermosyphon, convective surface, and n-factor boundary conditions.

Investigate Multi-Physics Problems

Use the multi-physics capabilities to solve water, heat, contaminant, and pore-air transfer through the domain in a single analysis. Choose the additional physics you wish to investigate using the easy selection dialogue, allowing for the coupling of various processes, like convective water transfer due to concentration and/or temperature gradients.

Easy Results Interpretation

Powerful graphing and visualization options are provided to assist with results interpretation. Display isosurfaces representing the phreatic surface or zero-temperatures surface. Contour total head, temperature, concentration, air pressure, and many other parameters over the entire domain. Graph convergence data to ensure a reliable result was reached.
